The “Sustainable Livelihoods II” project was successfully implemented in cooperation with the Microfinance Development Fund

In cooperation with the Microfinance Development Fund of the “Sustainable Livelihoods-II” project implemented by the Government of Mongolia, a total of 404.6 million MNT was allocated to support the livelihoods of poor, low and middle income citizens, households, small businesses and households in Ulaanbaatar. Project purpose is to increase their income and increase their business capacity, loans were provided to a total of 20 individuals and businesses living or doing business in Bayangol and Sukhbaatar districts.
More than 100 new jobs have been created through these loans, which has contributed to poverty reduction and economic capacity building in Mongolia. 271.3 million MNT was disbursed to Bayangol district, 133.3 million MNT to Sukhbaatar district, 373.3 million MNT for business purposes and MNT 31.3 million for consumer purposes.
Target market of the loan is:
- Individuals and households engaged in small business (Individuals who has their own skills, such as making handicrafts, sewing, and making wooden home furniture.)
- Self-employed taxi drivers who make a living by providing car services.
